Aftercare
Healing is individual, but the order is the same for everyone. You receive written aftercare instructions after the procedure; if anything worries you, write to me on WhatsApp.
Days 1–3
The colour is brighter and darker than it will end up; the area may swell slightly and feel tight.
- Do not touch or pick the scabs and the thin crust: they fall off on their own.
- Gently blot the area with a clean tissue and apply a thin layer of the product I recommend.
- Do not wet the area under a strong stream; avoid the sauna, the pool and the sea.
- Do not apply make-up to the area and do not sunbathe.
Days 4–7
Flaking starts and the skin may itch.
- Do not scratch or peel the flaking skin.
- Keep applying a thin layer of the product while the skin feels tight.
- The colour may look pale or uneven: this is an intermediate stage.
Days 8–14
The skin renews itself and the colour evens out gradually.
- You can go back to your usual care, but no peels, acids or retinol on the treated area.
- Use a cream with SPF when you go out in the sun.
Up to 30 days
The final shade settles in about a month.
- Until the skin has fully recovered, avoid strong peels and harsh products on the area.
- After 6 to 8 weeks we look at the healed result and, if needed, do a touch-up.
- If you notice strong redness, growing pain, discharge or a fever, write to me and see a doctor.
Lips
- Until the crusts fall off, avoid spicy, hot and salty food; a straw helps in the first days.
- Do not lick or bite your lips and do not kiss until the area has healed.
- If you get cold sores, tell me beforehand: we will discuss how to prepare, and you may want to ask your doctor.
- Use lipstick and gloss only after the crusts have fallen off.
Brows
- In the first days do not wet your brows or rub them with a towel.
- Avoid the sauna and intense workouts for the first days.
- Do not use brow pencils, gels or tints until the skin has renewed.
- After healing the colour is lighter and softer than in the first days; that is expected, so judge the result after the touch-up.
Lash line
- In the first hours the eyes may water and be sensitive to light, and the eyelids may swell slightly.
- Do not rub your eyes; no mascara or lash curler until the area has healed.
- We will agree after the procedure when you can go back to contact lenses and eye make-up.
- If an eye turns very red, hurts or your vision gets worse, see a doctor right away.
After removal with a remover
- A crust forms: do not take it off, it falls off on its own.
- The result appears gradually; sometimes it takes several sessions, and we will agree on the interval.
- Protect the area from sun and water as after a regular procedure and apply the recommended product.
- If you notice strong redness, growing pain or discharge, write to me and see a doctor.
